INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) announced Tuesday that 3,960 student-athletes have garnered Academic All-GLVC distinction for the 2023-24 season.
The Academic All-GLVC honor is bestowed upon student-athletes who meet a cumulative GPA of 3.30 over two semesters of an academic year at the institution.
The list of honorees features students from the following sports: baseball (388), men’s basketball (102), women’s basketball (163), women’s bowling (36), men’s cross country (163), women’s cross country (136), football (315), men’s golf (110), women’s golf (77), men’s lacrosse (157), women’s lacrosse (133), men’s soccer (347), women’s soccer (353), softball (220), men’s swimming and diving (161), women’s swimming and diving (150), men’s tennis (76), women’s tennis (84), men’s track and field (247), women’s track and field (252), volleyball (190), and wrestling (95).
Not counting the 24 honorees from men’s lacrosse (17) and wrestling (7) associate member Davenport University, the seven winners from women’s lacrosse associate member Missouri Western State University, as well as the 14 recipients from women’s bowling associate members University of Central Missouri (5) and Newman University (9), the 3,915 honorees from 14 full-time GLVC members averaged out to a record 279.6 selections per school. Over the course of the last five years, the per-school averages have been 256 (2022-23), 250.1 (2021-22), 257.5 (2020-21), 247 (2019-20), and 193 (2018-19).
