ORLANDO, Fla. –
Joseph Lozano, a true freshman midfielder from Lincoln University (GLVC), has been named the D2CIDA Men's Soccer National Player of the Week for his standout performance during the week of November 3–9.
Lozano powered #2-seeded Lincoln to a commanding 4-0 victory over #7-seeded Missouri S&T in the GLVC Championship Quarterfinals on Sunday, netting a hat trick in just 84 minutes of play. The freshman scored on three of his four shot attempts, finding the back of the net in the 38th, 61st, and 83rd minutes to secure Lincoln's spot in the semifinals.
Entering the match with just one goal in 649 minutes this season, Lozano erupted for a career-defining performance, accounting for three of the Blue Tigers' four goals in the postseason rout.
National Players of the Week are selected by a volunteer committee of Division II Conference Information Directors (D2CIDA) from nominations submitted by conference offices.
