S&T's Barcom Named National Player of the Week by D2CIDA

ST. LOUIS, MO – The Division II Conference Information Directors Association has announced Anastasia Barcom as this week's National Player of the Week for her shutout performance agianst #1 Missouri-St. Louis in Sunday's 1-0 victory that advanced the team to the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament Semifinals. Missouri S&T goalkeeper Anastasia Barcom, a senior from St. Louis, Missouri, has been named the D2CIDA Women's Soccer National Player of the Week for her standout performance during the week of November 3–9.

Barcom led the #8-seed Miners to a stunning 1-0 upset victory over #1-seed Missouri - St. Louis, who also entered the GLVC Tournament ranked #2 in the Midwest Region. She recorded five saves while facing 13 total shots and a pair of corners, earning her eighth win and fifth shutout of the season.

In the 72nd minute, Barcom made a crucial save and quickly distributed a long pass to midfield that set up Adriana Benassi's game-winning goal, sealing one of the biggest postseason wins in program history.

National Players of the Week are selected by a volunteer committee of Division II Conference Information Directors (D2CIDA) from nominations submitted by conference offices.

Barcom's fifth shutout of the season comes against a Missouri-St. Louis team that is ranked third in the GLVC for goals scored with 32.

The Miners will now look ahead to Friday's match in Creve Coeur against the #5-seed Drury.
