UIndy, Jewell Earn GLVC Wrestler of the Week Awards

INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis redshirt-junior Aidan Sprague and William Jewell redshirt-freshman Juliana Alejandro have respectively been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference/Athletic Solutions Wrestler of the Week in men's and women's wrestling, it was announced by the league office Tuesday. 
 
MEN'S WRESTLER OF THE WEEK

Team Results: 13th/47 Teams at Midwest Classic (12/13-14)
  • Went 6-2 to finish fourth in 133-lb division at Midwest Classic, winning six consecutive matches after losing his first match of the tournament
    • Beat trio of opponents by one-point decision: Mount Olive's Brock Christian (8-7), Colorado Mesa's Oran Huff (11-10), and UW-Parkside's Elon Rodriguez (14-13)
    • Defeated Pitt-Johnstown's Brady Baker (0:33, fall) and UMary's Ben DeForest (14-4, major decision)
    • Pinned No. 11-ranked Nick Cottone of Millersville (2:29) before falling to No. 7 Thad Long from McKendree in the third-place match
  • Earns first career Wrestler of the Week Award
