Jewell Snags Both GLVC Women’s Indoor Track & Field Weekly Awards



INDIANAPOLIS – William Jewell College junior Caroline Mayes and senior Cydney Banks have been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Athletes of the Week in women’s indoor track and field, it was announced by the league office Wednesday.

Team Results: No Team Scores at Bearcat Invite (2/7-8)
  • Won 60-meter hurdles with NCAA provisional time of 8.65
    • Ranks first in GLVC and 12th in Division II
  • Earns second career Indoor Track Athlete of the Week Award (2/12/25, 12/11/24)
  • Last Cardinals’ Indoor Track Athlete of the Week: Caroline Mayes (12/11/24)

Team Results: No Team Scores at Bearcat Invite (2/7-8)
  • Finished first in shot put with throw of 15.21 meters (49’-11”)
    • Broke school record and reached NCAA provisional distance
    • Ranks first in GLVC and fifth in DII
  • Placed fourth in weight throw with toss of 18.68m (61’-3.5”)
    • Set new school record and hit NCAA qualifying mark
    • Ranks second in GLVC and 12th in DII
  • Earns first career Indoor Field Athlete of the Week Award
