MARION, Ill. – No. 2 University of Illinois Springfield and No. 7 Missouri S&T will have a first round rematch in Sunday’s Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Baseball title game at Mtn. Dew Park. The game will be played at 12:30 p.m. CT.
The Miners defeated the University of Missouri-St. Louis Tritons twice on Saturday to advance to the title game. The Prairie Stars defeated Drury University to move on. This is only the second time a seventh seed has made it to the title game, the first being Drury in 2015, also this is the first time Missouri S&T has played in the GLVC Championship game. Illinois Springfield will be making their fourth GLVC Championship game appearance, winning once in 2022.
No. 7 Missouri S&T defeated No. 8 UMSL 6-4 in 12 innings, and 8-1 later on in the day to advance, while No. 2 Illinois Springfield defeated No. 4 Drury 5-2 in between the two S&T-UMSL games.
These teams already played each other in the 2025 GLVC Tournament, with Illinois Springfield coming out 10-3 winners on Wednesday in the first round.

- UIS’s Ethan Bowers gave the Prairie Stars their final two runs with a double in the eighth.
- UIS Ben Benoit pitched six innings picking up the win, while Seth Masters picked up his tenth save of the year.

- This is the fourth time UIS has made the GLVC Championship game, with them winning the championship in 2022.

- S&T was dominant from start to finish, only using two pitchers all game.
- S&T scored six runs in the first six innings with Garrett Meyer, Will Beckham, and Bricen Smith picking up two RBI each.
- UMSL’s Mitch Bonczkowski broke up the shutout with a solo shot in the eighth.
- Denton Damgaard added another two runs in the eighth for S&T to set the final score at 8-1.
