INDIANAPOLIS – Five Women’s Wrestlers from the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) have earned the top seed in their respective weight class for the 2026 NCAA Women’s Wrestling Championships, which will take place March 6-7 at Xtream Arena in Coralville, Iowa.
McKendree earned four No. 1 seeds with GLVC Freshman of Year, Heather Crull (103), Yu Sakamoto (117), GLVC Wrestler of the Year, Cameron Guerin (131), and Tristan Kelly (207), being selected as the favorites in their respective weight classes. Grand Valley State’s Katerina Lange (138) is the other GLVC top seed in the competition.
The Bearcats and Lakers also earned four grapplers at the second-seeded line, with McKendree’s Savannah Gomez (160), and Destiny Rodriguez (180), and Grand Valley State’s Sage Mortimer (110), and Sabrina Nauss (207) garnering the No. 2 seeds.
In total 27 GLVC women’s wrestlers qualified for the Championships.
