INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) will be represented by two of the eight women's basketball teams in this upcoming week's NCAA Division II Midwest Regional, it was announced Sunday night on the NCAA's Selection Show.
Missouri-St. Louis (24-5) won the GLVC regular season and lost to Maryville in the conference tournament championship and earned the No. 7 seed. This is the Tritons' third time in 13 years and fourth overall appearance in the D-II Tournament. Missouri-St. Louis will take on second-seeded, and Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC)Runners-up Ferris State (26-6) at on Friday, March 13.
Maryville (25-6) earned the leagues automatic qualification spot after defeating Missouri-St. Louis in the GLVC Championship game. Maryville will be making its second national tournament appearance and first since 2012, earning the No. 8 seed in the bracket. The Saints will face top seed and hosts Grand Valley State (30-1) on March 13.
