Lewis Collects 10th Consecutive GLVC Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Crown

BOLIVAR, Mo. – Lewis secured its 16th overall and 10th consecutive women’s title at the 2026 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday at Plaster Stadium on the campus of Southwest Baptist.
 
The Flyers totaled 154 points to finished ahead of the runner-up – SBU (150) – by four points.
 
Indianapolis (133.5) placed third, while Lincoln (133) and McKendree (50) placed fourth and fifth, respectively. Sixth place went to Missouri S&T (47.5), while the respective seventh- and eighth-place teams were Maryville (47) and Drury (42). Truman State (20) was ninth and Rockhurst (18) finished in 10th. Rounding out the 11th through 14th place was Quincy (13), Illinois Springfield (10), William Jewell (1), and Upper Iowa (0).

The top-three finishers in all finals events were named All-Conference honorees.
 
At the conclusion of the championship, Dean earned Track Athlete of the Year, Maurino was chosen as Field Athlete of the Year, and Lincoln’s Kimeisha Francis earned the Freshman of the Year award. The league coaches also recognized Lewis mentor Dana Schwarting as Coach of the Year.
 
Additionally, SBU was honored as the GLVC James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award winner, while 14 student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior were also named as their sport’s honoree for the award. These individuals must also be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting. The honorees are now eligible to become one of their school’s two Spalding Sportsmanship Award winners, which will be announced later this month.
