INDIANAPOLIS – Lincoln was voted first in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) men’s soccer preseason coaches’ poll presented by Primo Designs, the conference office announced Wednesday.
The preseason poll is selected by the league’s head coaches, who, per GLVC Bylaws, are not permitted to vote for their own team.
No. 1 Lincoln
- Received six first-place votes and 192 total points.
- Ranked No. 16 in United Soccer Coaches’ Preseason Poll.
- Advanced to the semifinals of the GLVC Tournament last year, ended postseason run in NCAA Sweet 16 loss.
- Head coach Sammy Samuels enters his third season with the program after leading Lincoln to an undefeated regular season (10-0-6) in 2025.
- Adam Griffiths, senior midfielder, returns after being named All-GLVC Second Team and USC All-Midwest Region second team honoree.
No. 2 Rockhurst
- Received six first-place votes and 180 total points.
- Ranked No. 13 in United Soccer Coaches’ Preseason Poll.
- Advanced to the semifinals of the GLVC Tournament last year, before ending their postseason run with an NCAA third-round loss.
- Head coach Tony Tocco enters his 56th season with the team as the second winningest all-time head coach in Division II men’s soccer.
No. 3 Maryville
- Received two first-place votes and 166 total points.
- Won the GLVC title for the fourth time in program history in 2025.
- Ended postseason run in NCAA second round.
- Head coach Adam Hall enters his third season at the helm of the program.
No. 4 McKendree
- Received 162 total points.
- Finished second in the GLVC Tournament last year before falling in NCAA first round.
- Head coach Scott Gyllenborg enters his 10th season with the program.
- Philipp Muehlhans, graduate student defender, returns after earning USC All-Midwest Region First Team recognition in 2025.
