2004 GLVC Baseball Players of the Week

BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Quincy senior second baseman Kevin Sewell hit .429 with three home runs, seven runs scored and eight RBI in leading his team to a 4-0 week to earn Player of the Week honors in the GLVC. Sewell used the eight RBI to shatter the Quincy single-season RBI record (74) and now has 85. He also broke the single-season home run record (14) last week, tying it with his 14th of the season in Saturday's second game, then breaking it with a sixth-inning blast in the first game on Sunday (No. 15). He later hit a grand slam in Sunday's second game (No. 16) to help the Hawks complete a four-game weekend sweep over Lewis. The second baseman also broke the Quincy career RBI record with that grand slam, giving him 157 for his three-year career. This is Sewell's second POW honor, as he was the winner in Week No. 1. He is from Stronghurst, Illinois.
