The 2011 Great Lakes Valley Conference Baseball Championship will be held at GCS Ballpark in Sauget, Ill. and at the UMSL Baseball Field on the campus of Missouri-St. Louis on May 12-15. 2011 will mark the 32nd GLVC Championship and the sixth consecutive year the title game will be held at GCS Ballpark.
Last year, Southern Indiana claimed the school's fourth GLVC Baseball Championship on its way to claiming the school's and league's first national championship. The Eagles defeated Bellarmine in the championship game 4-2 in front of 350 spectators.
Lewis holds the league mark for most titles won with six and the Flyers are one of 11 different schools to have claimed a championship in baseball. Bellarmine (2), Drury (1), Indianapolis (4), Missouri-St. Louis (1) Northern Kentucky (5), Quincy (1), Saint Joseph's (5), Southern Indiana (4), UW-Parkside (1) and former GLVC member SIU Edwardsville (2) have each registered titles.
