2012 GLVC Baseball Championship Tournament

The 2012 Great Lakes Valley Conference Baseball Championship will be held at Bosse Field and the University of Southern Indiana Field in Evansville, Ind., on May 10-13, 2012.  The tournament will mark the 33rd GLVC Baseball Championship and the first time the event has been held at historic Bosse Field.

After a decade competing at GSC Ballpark in Sauget, Ill., the GLVC Baseball Championship Tournament relocates to a community and a venue that has been associated with the game of baseball for nearly 100 years.

In all, Bosse Field will host GLVC Baseball Championship games each of the four days and a total of nine of the 14 contests, with the remaining five being played at USI Field on the campus of Southern Indiana over the first two days.

Eight teams will vie for the 2012 GLVC crown and the opportunity to represent the conference at the NCAA Division II National Championship. Those eight teams will consist of the top three teams from the East Division, the top two teams from the West Division and three wild card teams.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students, and $5 for children, while kids 5-and-under are free.  Tickets will be available at those prices from Thursday through Saturday, while Sunday's tickets will dip to $8 for adults, $5 for students, and $3 for children.  The GLVC is offering an All-Tournament pass for $35.

 
Lewis holds the league mark for most titles won with six and the Flyers are one of 11 different schools to have claimed a championship in baseball, which also includes 2011 champion Quincy. Bellarmine (2), Drury (1), Indianapolis (4), Missouri-St. Louis (1) Northern Kentucky (5), Quincy (2), Saint Joseph's (5), Southern Indiana (4), UW-Parkside (1) and former GLVC member SIU Edwardsville (2) have each registered titles.
