University of Indianapolis to Host
2013 GLVC Indoor Track & Field Championship
The 2013 Great Lakes Valley Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held at the Athletics & Recreastion Center on the campus of the University of Indianapolis on Feb. 22-23. The 2013 edition marks the 14th annual GLVC Indoor Track & Field Championship.
The Athletics & Recreation Center (ARC) is the newest addition to the University of Indianapolis.The ARC features a 68,000-square-foot air-supported dome with a training room, a competition-fit indoor track facility, baseball batting cages, an expanded weight room, an indoor golf practice facility, multi-purpose courts, and locker rooms for seven varsity sports. The new facility alos includes 20,000-square-feet of office space for staff of nine athletic teams.
In 2012, the Indianapolis men repeated as GLVC Indoor Track & Field Champions. The Greyhounds (3) are now one of four schools to have registered an indoor title. UIndy joins Lewis (5), Missouri S&T (1) and SIU Edwardsville (4) as previous champions.
On the women's side, Bellarmine won its first GLVC Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship in 2012. The Knights are one of just four programs to have claimed women's titles, joining Lewis (6), Indianapolis (1) and SIU Edwardsville (5).
