University of Indianapolis to Host
2014 GLVC Indoor Track & Field Championship
The 2014 Great Lakes Valley Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held at the Athletics & Recreation Center on the campus of the University of Indianapolis on Feb. 28-March 1. The 2014 edition marks the 15th annual GLVC Indoor Track & Field Championship.
The Athletics & Recreation Center (ARC) is the newest addition to the University of Indianapolis. The ARC features a 68,000-square-foot air-supported dome with a training room, a competition-fit indoor track facility, baseball batting cages, an expanded weight room, an indoor golf practice facility, multi-purpose courts, and locker rooms for seven varsity sports. The facility also includes 20,000-square-feet of office space for staff of nine athletic teams.
In 2013, the Indianapolis men repeated as GLVC Indoor Track & Field Champions. The Greyhounds are now one of four schools to have registered an indoor title. UIndy (4) joins Lewis (5), Missouri S&T (1) and SIU Edwardsville (4) as previous champions.
On the women's side last year, Bellarmine became the first time to win back-to-back titles since Lewis captured the 2010 and 2011 crowns. The Knights are one of just four programs to have claimed women's titles, joining Lewis (6), Indianapolis (1) and former league member SIU Edwardsville (5).
