2015 GLVC Men's & Women's Swimming & Diving Championships

The Great Lakes Valley Conference is set to host the second annual GLVC Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Championships, Feb. 11-14, 2015, at the Crawfordsville Aquatics Center on the campus of Crawfordsville High School in Crawfordsville, Ind., located an hour west of Indianapolis.

Eight men's teams and eight women's squads representing nine member institutions will vie for the 2015 GLVC Championship.  Seven GLVC schools currently sponsor both men's and women's swimming and diving, including Bellarmine, Drury, Indianapolis, Lewis, Missouri-St. Louis, Truman State, and William Jewell.  Missouri S&T currently fields a men's squad and Maryville is in its second year of existence.  UMSL will field its men's and women's programs at the conference meet for the first time in 2015.

This year's GLVC Championship meet will be streamed live and free of charge on the GLVC Sports Network.  The broadcast schedule will be released prior to the meet. 

At the inaugural GLVC Championship last season, Drury swept both the men's and women's titles.

On the men's side, Drury scored 838 points in the win, followed by Indianapolis (747.5), Missouri S&T (743.5), Lewis (472), William Jewell (397), Truman State (338) and Bellarmine (154).

Drury's women's team scored 1,011 points in the win, besting runner-up Truman State by 228 points.  The Bulldogs tallied 783 points to place second, followed by Indianapolis (641), Lewis (479), and William Jewell (406) in the top five.  Bellarmine (170) and Maryville (94) rounded out the seven-team field.  

The Panthers went on to sweep the NCAA Division II National Championships in 2014.  The Drury men captured its 10th straight and 11th overall since coming on board as a Division II member in 1994, following nine national titles at the NAIA level.  The Panthers have won 10 NCAA crowns on the women's side and have claimed five out of the last six national titles, including the 2013 and 2014 crowns.
