GLVC Men's & Women's Tennis Championships Head to Lewis
The 2021 Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's & Women's Tennis Championships will be hosted by the Lewis University on April 30-May 2 in Romeoville, Illinois. The 2021 event, which will be primarily held at he Oremus Tennis Complexl, is the 42nd annual edition for the men and 40th for the women.
The top-four teams based on highest divisional winning percentage from each of the GLVC's two divisions earn a spot in the two eight-team tournaments. Both events are single elimination with the championship match conducted on Sunday.
The GLVC Tennis Championships will once again be streamed live and free on all GLVC Sports Network platforms, including GLVCSN.com, iOS/Android mobile apps, and Roku, Apple TV, Amazon fireTV and Android TV OTT apps. A complete schedule will be announced during championship week.
Indianapolis (10), Southern Indiana (7), Drury (7), Rockhurst (2), as well as former league members Bellarmine (8), Northern Kentucky (5), and SIU Edwardsville (2), have all claimed GLVC Men's Tennis Championshps.
On the women's side, Indianapolis (11), Drury (8), Southern Indiana (3), and Lewis (2) have all earned titles, as well as former league members Saint Joseph's (7), Northern Kentucky (6), Bellarmine (1), and SIU Edwardsville (1).
The 2020 event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but in 2019, Indianapolis earned its fourth-straight and league-record 10th men's title with a 4-0 victory over Drury at Center Grove High School in Indianapolis, IN. On the women's side, UIndy edged shuout Bellarmine, 4-0, for their 11th Conference crown.
