Art Hill is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Supervisor of Softball Umpires. He currently also serves in a similar capactiy with three other NCAA conferences including the Horizon League (DI), Mid West Conference (DIII) and Northern Athletic Conference (DIII).  

In addition to his responsibilities with the conference affiliations, Hill also assigns umpires for the Rebel Spring Games, a collegiate spring softball program in Kissimmee, Fla., as the Director of Umpires.  The Rebel Spring Games is the longest running spring collegiate program in the Nation and annually draws over 190 teams playing over 800 games during the spring break periods. 

Hill currently assigns and works with two National Pro Fastpitch teams (The Chicago Bandits and Rockford Tunder) in the Chicago/Rockford area.  

In his extensive college career Hill has worked NCAA D-II and D-III postseason tournaments, conference tournaments at all three levels, three NFCA Leadoff Classics, three NJCAA Division I National Championshps and annually conducts umpire softball camps associated with Fall Softball Events.

Hill is an ISF Certified Fastpitch Umpire and has worked seven World Cup Events and the World University Games. He is also an ASA Elite Fastpitch Umpire and has worked the Women's Major & A National Championships, the 18U Golf, Men's 45 & Over and numerous other ASA Events.

Hill attended the University of Michigan, Dearborn, Northeastern University and Aurora College and is a graduate of the Detroit Metropolitan Police Academy and is a Distinguished Graduate of the FAA Management Training School.
