Missouri S&T to Host
2021 GLVC Outdoor Track & Field Championships
The 2021 Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships will take place at Allgood-Bailey Stadium on the campus of Missouri S&T in Rolla, Missouri, May 6-8. The 2021 event will mark the 24th year for the GLVC Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Runners in the 1,500 and 10,000 meters will compete Thursday evening, while multi-event specialists and throwers will report on Thursday afternoon. The combined events will conclude Friday, while field and track events continue Friday and Saturday, wrapping up Saturday evening.
The GLVC Championships will once again be streamed live and free on all GLVC Sports Network platforms, including GLVCSN.com, iOS/Android mobile apps, and Roku, Apple TV, Amazon fireTV and Android TV OTT apps. Complete coverage information will be announced the week of the event.
Last year, the 2020 event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but in 2019 Indianapolis captured its seventh men's title with 222 points in the win, while McKendree (134 points) and Missouri S&T (133) finished second and third, respectively. Truman State (78.5) and Lewis (59.5) rounded out the top five.
On the women's side, Lewis captured its fourth consecutive and record 10th league title with 180 points. Indianapolis (179.5 points) and McKendree (116) finished second and third, respectively, while Maryville (71) and Truman State (70.5) rounded out the top five.
The UIndy men have won a GLVC-record seven outdoor titles, followed by former league member SIU Edwardsville (5), Lewis (4), Missouri S&T (4), and McKendree (1). Lewis owns a league-record 10 women's crowns, while Indianapolis (7) and SIU Edwardsville (4) are the only other programs to win outdoor titles since the GLVC began sponsoring the sport in 1996.
