GLVC Indoor Track & Field Championship
Returns to UW-Parkside
The 2016 Great Lakes Valley Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held at the Frank Petretti Fieldhouse on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Parkside on Feb. 27-28. The 2016 edition marks the 17th annual GLVC Indoor Track & Field Championship.
The two-day event will once again be streamed live on the GLVC Sports Network. Nearly 13 hours of coverage will be made available for free for all visitors to GLVCsports.com/watch.
In 2015, Lewis successfully defended both its GLVC men's and women's titles at UIndy. The Flyers posted 159 points for the win in the men's race and tallied 144.83 points to garner the women's crown.
It was the second consecutive sweep for the Lewis program, which gave the men their third overall conference title while the women earned their fourth. In fact, it is the second time the Lewis women have won back-to-back titles as they scored their first two wins back in 2010 and 2011.
UIndy and former GLVC member SIU Edwardsville each have four men's indoor titles, while Lewis has won three and Missouri S&T has earned one. Lewis (4) is also one of four teams to have earned at least one women's indoor crown, joining SIU Edwardsville (5), Bellarmine (2) and Indianapolis (1).
