2017 GLVC Men's & Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships

The 2017 Great Lakes Valley Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held at the Athletics & Recreation Center (ARC) on the campus of the University of Indianapolis on Feb. 25-26. The 2017 edition marks the 18th annual GLVC Indoor Track & Field Championship.

The two-day event will once again be streamed live on the GLVC Sports Network.  Nearly 13 hours of coverage will be made available for free for all visitors at GLVCSN.com.

In 2016, Lewis captured its third straight sweep at the GLVC Championships.  The Flyers’ women’s program scored 186.5 points on the week to earn its record-tying fifth GLVC Championship, as they also netted back-to-back titles in 2010 and 2011.  Lewis was 95.5 points better than second-place finisher Indianapolis (91), resulting in a margin of victory that is the largest at the GLVC Championships since the 2008 meet.  Bellarmine finished third overall with 81.5 points, followed by William Jewell (61) and McKendree (53) in the top five. 

The Lewis men made quite the surge on the final day as the Flyers entered third in the team standings with 28.5 points, while Missouri S&T led the pack with 61 points.  In the end, Lewis totaled 152.5 points, followed by Indianapolis (131), Missouri S&T (94), Southern Indiana (70) and McKendree (56) in the top five.

Lewis, UIndy, and former GLVC member SIU Edwardsville each have four men's indoor titles, while Missouri S&T has earned one.  Lewis and SIU Edwardsville are tied for the league lead with five GLVC titles each, while Bellarmine (2) and Indianapolis (1) have also captured past crowns.
