GLVC Outdoor Track & Field Championships Makes Final Stop at Saint Joseph's

The 2017 Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships will take place at the Michael J. Vallone/Class of 1960 Complex on the campus of Saint Joseph's College in Rensselaer, Indiana, May 4-6.  The 2017 event will mark the 21st year for the GLVC Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Runners in the 10,000 meters will now compete Thursday evening, while multi-event specialists will report on Thursday and conclude competition Friday.  Both track and field events will commence Friday and wrap up Saturday evening.

For the third straight season, the GLVC Championships will be streamed live on the GLVC Sports Network (GLVCSN).  Broadcast details will be announced days prior to the meet and all coverage can be found on the official GLVCSN website, GLVCSN.com.

For the fourth time in school history and the first since 1998, Lewis swept the GLVC Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships last year.

The Flyers secured both titles at William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri, with the men scoring 174 points while the women netted 213 points in the winning effort.

The UIndy men have won a GLVC-record six outdoor titles, including four of the last seven, while the UIndy women have won six of the last eight championships at the annual event, which extends their conference-best total to eight since the GLVC began sponsoring the sport in 1996.
