Quincy, Lewis Earn Baden GLVC Volleyball Player of the Week Honors



INDIANAPOLIS – Quincy University junior setter Makayla Knoblauch and Lewis University senior libero Jamie Poppen have been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Players of the Week in volleyball, it was announced by the league office Monday. 
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Makayla Knoblauch, Quincy
Jr., S, Leo, Ind.
Major: Human Services

Team Results: 3-1 W vs. Northwood, 3-0 W vs. Ohio Dominican (10/15) | 3-0 W vs. Saginaw Valley State (10/16)
 
  • Earned Midwest Region Volleyball Crossover All-Tournament Team honors
  • Totaled 106 assists and averaged 10.6 per set in helping Quincy to 3-0 weekend, as the only GLVC team to go unbeaten
  • Had five kills and three service aces, also hitting .222
  • Tallied two double-doubles with 21 digs and 38 assists against Northwood, as well as 13 digs and 28 assists against SVSU
  • Added 41 digs for 4.10 per set
  • Earns second career Offensive Player of the Week award (10/18/21, 3/8/21)
  • Last Hawks' Offensive Player of the Week: Makayla Knoblauch (3/8/21)

  • Totaled most digs over the weekend (66) among 38 teams for 7.33 per set
  • Recorded match-high digs in all three contests (19, 26, 21)
  • Added eight assists and three service aces
  • Earns seventh career Defensive Player of the Week award (10/18/21, 9/27/21, 9/6/21, 2/22/21, 2/15/21, 2/8/21, 10/28/19)
