INDIANAPOLIS – Three Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) volleyball teams have earned a bid to the 64-team 2021 NCAA Women's Volleyball Championship, it was announced Monday (Nov. 22). Lewis will be the 4-seed, Missouri-St. Louis will be the 5-seed, and Rockhurst will be the 8-seed in the Midwest Region.

The 19th-ranked Flyers (26-6) garnered the fourth seed in the Midwest Region and will face the Tritons (24-8) in the opening round on Thursday, Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time. This opening-round conest will be a rematch of the GLVC Volleyball championship match from Nov. 21 that saw Lewis come from behind to win 3-2. The Flyers also defeated the Tritons 3-1 on Nov. 6 in St. Louis. The Flyers streak of 15 consecutive NCAA trips is the longest of all women's volleyball teams in the Midwest Region and longest ever of any Lewis program since the Flyers joined the NCAA Division II ranks in 1981. UMSL is making its second consecutive trip to the NCAA postseason, having played in 2019, while this will be its fifth overall postseason trip. Top-seeded Ferris State will serve as the host for the regional.

The Hawks (20-11), having received their 14th overall and seventh consecutive invitation to the NCAA Regional, will face host and No. 1-seeded Ferris State (25-4) in a first-round match on December 2 at 5 p.m. ET. This will be the first meeting between the two teams this season, while they are 3-3 against each other from Oct. 2013 through Dec. 5, 2019, where the Hawks won 3-2 in the first round of the NCAA regional that year.

Both matches will be played at Wink Arena in Big Rapids, Michigan.

Semifinals of the regional tournament will be held on Friday, December 3, while the championship match is on Saturday, December 4. The Midwest Regional winner will advance to the Division II National Championships, Dec. 9-11, at the Bob Martinez Athletics Center in Tampa, Florida.
