UIndy, SBU Garner GLVC Football Postseason Awards

INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) announced Tuesday that the University of Indianapolis earned the lion’s share of the league’s football major postseason awards, including Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, and Coach of the Year, while Southwest Baptist University earned the Special Teams Player of the Year award.

The Indianpolis honorees include sophomore quarterback Gavin Sukup as Offensive Player of the Year, redshirt-senior defensive back Landry Mavungu as Defensive Player of the Year, freshman receiver Anthony Crowell as Freshman of the Year, and Chris Keevers, who was voted by his peers as Coach of the Year. Southwest Baptist’s award winner was senior kicker Logan Turner as the Special Teams Player of the Year. In total, 112 student-athletes claimed All-Conference honors with 36 on the First and Second Teams and 40 Honorable Mention, while eight were chosen as GLVC James R. Spalding Sportsmanship honorees for the sport and Truman State was selected as the team sportsmanship award winner.
