INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) released Monday the bracket for the 2024 GLVC Men's Soccer Championship Tournament. Lewis University earned the Regular Season title and top seed in the eight-team tournament and will serve as one of four hosts in the postseason quarterfinal contests, which take place next Sunday, Nov. 10. Second-seeded Maryville University, No. 3 McKendree University, and No. 4 University of Indianapolis will also host first-round action.
Seedings for this year's postseason were based on a point system, where a win earned three points and a tie earned one.
Quarterfinal 1: #1 Lewis vs. #8 Rockhurst | Romeoville, Ill. | 2:30 PM CT
- Lewis went 9-2-7 overall and 9-1-4 in GLVC action during the regular season to tally 31 points and win the GLVC Regular Season title.
- Rockhurst went 6-8-2 overall and 6-6-2 in GLVC action during the regular season to tally 20 points.
- After tying 2-2 on Sept. 29 against Illinois Springfield, Rockhurst lost the tiebreaker to the Prairie Stars due to its 4-2 loss to Maryville on Sept. 20 and Illinois Springfield’s 2-2 tie with the Saints on Oct. 20.
- The Flyers beat the Hawks, 1-0, in Kansas City, Mo. on Oct. 6.
- Lewis is making its league-record 36th appearance in the GLVC postseason.
- Rockhurst is making its 16th appearance in the GLVC postseason and third in a row.
Quarterfinal 2: #2 Maryville vs. #7 Illinois Springfield | St. Louis, Mo. | 2:00 PM CT
- 24-ranked Maryville went 10-4-4 overall and 9-2-3 in GLVC play during the regular season to tally 30 points.
- Illinois Springfield went 5-7-5 overall and 5-4-5 in GLVC play during the regular season to tally 20 points.
- After tying 0-0 head-to-head on Oct. 11 against McKendree, Maryville won the tiebreaker over the Bearcats due to its 1-0 win over top-seeded Lewis on Oct. 27 and McKendree’s 0-0 tie with the Flyers on Oct. 25
- After tying 2-2 on Sept. 29 against Rockhurst, UIS won the tiebreaker over the Hawks due to its 2-2 tie with Maryville on Oct. 20 and Rockhurst’s 4-2 loss to the Saints on Sept. 20.
- The Saints and Prairie Stars tied 2-2, in St. Louis, Mo. on Oct. 20.
- Maryville is making its ninth overall and consecutive appearance in the GLVC postseason.
- UIS is making its eighth overall and consecutive appearance in the GLVC postseason.
Quarterfinal 3: #3 McKendree vs. #6 Missouri-St. Louis | Lebanon, Ill. | 3:30 PM CT
- 14th-ranked McKendree went 11-0-6 overall and 8-0-6 in GLVC action during the regular season to tally 30 points.
- Missouri-St. Louis went 7-4-6 overall and 5-3-6 in GLVC action during the regular season to tally 21 points.
- After tying 0-0 head-to-head on Oct. 11 against Maryville, McKendree lost the tiebreaker to the Saints due to its 0-0 tie with the Flyers on Oct. 25 and McKendree’s 1-0 win over top-seeded Lewis on Oct. 27.
- UMSL lost the tiebreaker against Drury after losing 1-0 to the Panthers on Sept. 15 in Springfield, Mo.
- The Bearcats and Tritons tied 1-1, in Lebanon, Ill on Oct. 13.
- McKendree is making its sixth appearance in the GLVC postseason and second in a row.
- UMSL is making its 14th appearance and the first since 2021
Quarterfinal 4: #4 Indianapolis vs. #5 Drury | Indianapolis, Ind. | 2:30 PM ET
- Indianapolis went 8-4-4 overall and 8-2-4 in GLVC play during the regular season to tally 28 points.
- Drury went 8-5-4 overall and 6-5-3 in GLVC play during the regular season to tally 21 points.
- After tying 1-1 head-to-head on Oct. 1 against UIndy and 0-0 versus UIS on Oct. 22, McKendree lost tiebreaker to the Greyhounds due to its 1-0 loss to second-seeded Lewis on Sept. 29 and UIndy's 2-0 win against the Flyers on Oct. 8.
- Drury won the tiebreaker over UMSL after defeating the Tritons 1-0 on Sept. 15 in Springfield, Mo.
- The Greyhounds and Panthers tied, 2-2, in Springfield, Mo. on Oct. 4.
- UIndy is making its 32nd overall and 12th-straight appearance in the GLVC postseason.
- Drury is making its 14th appearance in the GLVC postseason and fourth in a row.
Each of the four quarterfinal winners will advance to the GLVC Championship Tournament semifinals, which will be hosted at Creve Coeur Park Soccer Complex in St. Louis Mo. The two semifinal contests will be played on Friday, Nov. 15, while the final will take place Sunday, Nov. 17.
