INDIANAPOLIS – 12 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) women's soccer players earned recognition on the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-Midwest Region First and Second Teams, as nominated and selected by the region's sports information directors.
Six GLVC players were named to the First Team, including a Maryville quartet of GLVC Defensive Player of the Year Lotte Brands, GLVC Goalkeeper of the Year Agnes Vilen, graduate student forward Lexi Gentry, and senior defender Ulrika Bredin. McKendree senior forward Anna Stiffler and Rockhurst junior forward Anna Lantz were also awarded first-team nods.
Six GLVC student-athletes also landed on the Second Team. Maryville forward duo of senior Elsa Nilson-Hurtig, the GLVC Offensive Player of the Year, and junior Ashlyne Hunt represented the Saints, while Drury senior duo of midfielder Kourtney Tucker and defender Andrea Camargo were also honored. McKendree senior midfielder Katie Spotanski and Missouri-St. Louis senior midfielder Kayley Judy rounded out the conference honorees.
The 13 first-team All-Region selections will now be placed on the national ballot for All-America consideration.
The Division II Conference Commissioners Association encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education.
