KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – University of Indianapolis and Missouri S&T will head into the final day of the 2024 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships as the leader in the respective women’s and men’s competitions, which are being held at Stokes Stadium on the campus of Truman State University in Kirksville, Mo.
Women’s Heptathlon
- UIndy’s Ellie Lengerich set a new GLVC record with a combined score and NCAA Provisional mark of 4,968 points.
- Lily Simmons of Southwest Baptist secured silver (4,734 points).
- S&T’s Maya Wright scored 4,407 points to claim bronze.
Men’s Decathlon
- S&T’s Otto Knittel secured first place, scoring 6,702 points, which was good to secure a NCAA Provo.
- Cole Hurt from UIndy scored 6,271 points to finish as runner-up.
- Dawson Sherer of S&T claimed the final spot on the podium, securing 6,135 points for third.
Women’s Long Jump
- SBU’s Madison Hicks jumped 6.01m (19-8.75), which was good for gold and a NCAA Provo mark.
- Lewis’ Denise Hernandez flew for silver, jumping 5.74m (18-1).
- Joanna Fields of UIndy claimed bronze with a jump of 5.54m (18-2.25).
Women’s Discus
- Emily Bonser of UIndy won the women’s discus on her last throw at 46.02m (151-0).
- Cardinals’ Cydney Banks was close behind as the runner-up with a throw of 45.86m (150-6).
- Lewis’ Aubrey Brinkman came in third, throwing 44.34m (145-6 ft).
- Bonser and Banks snagged NCAA Provo marks.
Men’s Shot Put
- S&T’s Owen Fraser tossed the shot 16.80m (55-1.50) to secure the top spot.
- Teammate Ethan Crouch helped the Miners finish the 1-2 sweep with a toss of 16.67m (54-8.25).
- UIndy’s Dylan Mayhew came in third, throwing 15.69m (51-7.75).
- Fraser and Crouch earned NCAA Provos.
Women’s Pole Vault
- Sabrina Robison from UIndy soared to first, clearing 3.98m (13-0.75).
- Brynlee Keeran cleared 3.88m (12-8.75) for second place.
- Elizabeth Rothweiler secured third place with a clearance of 3.63m (11-10.75).
- Robison and Keeran nabbed NCAA Provisional status.
Men’s Long Jump
- Alex Meyer won his first GLVC title with a jump of 7.53m (+2.2; 24-8.50), also hitting a NCAA Provisional distance.
- Lewis’ Zach Olenek flew for second place, jumping 7.20m (23-7.50).
- Senior Sammy Sommers from UIndy went for 7.03m (23-0.75), good enough for third.
Men’s Pole Vault
- Isaac Pollard went for a 24cm personal best, 4.64m (15-2.75) to grab first place.
- Treyton Arnold of UIndy would also clear 4.64 (15-2.75) but earned second due to makes.
- Lukas LePage cleared 4.49 (14-8.75) to round out the podium in third.
Preliminaries were also contested in several events, including the 100, 200, 400, and 800 meters, as well as the 100-, 110-, and 400-meter hurdles.

The top-three finishers in all finals events were named All-Conference honorees.
In Saturday’s field events, which begin at 9 AM Central Time, the men and women will compete in the javelin, high jump, and triple jump. In addition, the women will complete the shot put and the men will compete in the discus.
Running events commence at 12 PM CT with the 4x100-meter relay. The 1,500 and 5,000 meters will also be contested, along with the finals of the aforementioned running events. The GLVC Championships conclude with the 4x400-meter relay, with the women’s race beginning at approximately 3:40 PM.
