Segrest Takes Helm of S&T Track & Field Program

ROLLA, MO – Nikki Segrest is stepping in to take over as Missouri S&T's Head Track & Field Coach ahead of the 2025-26 season.

"We are excited to welcome Nikki Segrest as the next head coach of Miner Track & Field," said Athletic Director Melissa Ringhausen, "Nicole has a deep understanding of our program's proud tradition and brings a competitive vision that aligns with the excellence we strive for at Missouri S&T. Her leadership, energy, and commitment to developing student-athletes on and off the track make her the right person to lead us into this next chapter."

Segrest joins the Miners' staff after spending the past five years as an assistant coach at Northwest Missouri State University. During her time with the Bearcats, she specialized in coaching hurdles, horizontal jumps, and multi-events. In 2023, she helped guide the program to its first-ever MIAA women's outdoor track & field championship and played a key role in the development of 10 national champions and 84 All-Americans over her tenure in Maryville, Missouri.

Prior to Northwest, Segrest was the associate head track and field coach at NCAA Division III Milliken University in Decatur, Illinois. She was a member of the staff that earned CCIW coaching staff of the year honors in the 2019 and 2020 indoor seasons. In her four seasons with the Big Blue, student-athletes accomplished five NCAA Division III All-America honors, 14 national qualifiers, 19 conference champions and 149 all-conference performances.
 
Segrest joined the Millkin staff in 2016 after having served as a volunteer/graduate assistant coach at St. Cloud State University from 2014-2016. In two seasons with the Huskies, she helped them to nine NCAA Division II provisional qualifiers and 17 all-conference efforts.
 
Segrest earned her bachelor of science degree in health promotion with a minor in coaching at Emporia State University, where she was awarded 2014 outdoor All-America honors in the 100-meter hurdles. She was a five-time NCAA Division II national qualifier in the triple jump, 60-meter hurdles and 100-meter hurdles. She set Hornet school records in the 60-meter hurdles, 100-meter hurdles and pentathlon. She was a 23-time MIAA placewinner in her four-year career at Emporia State.

Segrest and her husband, Jake, were married in the summer of 2023.
