INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) will be represented by two of the eight women's basketball teams in this upcoming week's NCAA Division II Midwest Regional, it was announced Sunday night on the NCAA's Selection Show.
Lewis (26-3) won the GLVC regular season and lost to Maryville in the conference tournament semifinals and earned the No. 5 seed. This is the Flyers' third-straight and 17th overall appearance in the D-II Tournament, holding a 8-16 all-time record with one regional championship in 2015. Lewis will take on fourth-seeded Wayne State (19-11) at on Friday, March 14.
Quincy (25-6) earned the leagues automatic qualification spot after defeating Maryville in the GLVC Championship game. Quincy will be making its 11th national tournament appearance and first since 2016, earning the No. 8 seed in the bracket. The Hawks won the 2004 Midwest Regional and will face top seed and hosts Grand Valley State (30-1) on March 14.
