Lincoln Collects Two National Crowns, 18 All-Americans Named for GLVC at NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships

INDIANAPOLIS – 18 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) student-athletes were named All-American at last week’s NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships in Indianapolis, Ind.
 
Lincoln's Wesley Tindall highlighted the list of All-Americans with a National Championship effort in the long jump, leaping a career-best 7.58 meters. The Blue Tigers women’s 4x400m relay team also took home a national title in a time of 3:37.294 winning by 0.006 seconds. Shantae George added to her All-American status as she placed fifth in the 60-meter dash, while Emmanuel Rwotomiya placed second in the 400m as well as being part of a runner-up 4x400m relay team for Lincoln.
 
Josue Le Cadre headlined Indianapolis’ All-Americans as he was the runner up in the men’s 800-meter run, with Zoe Pentecost placing third in the women’s weight throw and Alex Meyer placing third in the men’s long jump. Ellie Lengerich rounded out the Hounds All-Americans as she placed eighth in the pentathlon.
 
Lewis earned four All-Americans in the form of Levi Graham finishing as runner-up in the men’s weight throw, Denise Hernandez runner-up in the women’s long jump, Hannah Smrcka (5th) and Evan Horgan (7th) in the 5000-meter run, Smrcka in the women’s and Horgan in the men’s.
 
Rounding out the conference’s All-Americans was Southwest Baptist’s Collinique Farrington (2nd in the 200-meter and 3rd in the 400-meter) and Stephanique Dean (7th in the 200-meter), William Jewell’s Cydney Banks (3rd in the weight throw), McKendree’s Kierson Wicks (8th in the high jump), and Truman State’s Justin Moeller (8th in the heptathlon).

The SBU women 14th in the team standings, while Lincoln finished 15th and Lewis finished 17th. Indianapolis’ women finished in 26th while William Jewell was tied for 27th. The Lincoln men finished in ninth place, with Indianapolis in 13th, Lewis claimed 18th, with McKendree and Truman State finishing in a tie for 49th.
