Lincoln, McKendree, S&T Earn GLVC Football Weekly Honors

INDIANAPOLIS – Lincoln sophomore quarterback Isaiah Tate, McKendree senior linebacker Logan Turbyfill, and Missouri S&T junior kicker Layne Ryals have been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference/Athletic Solutions Players of the Week in football, it was announced by the league office Monday.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Isaiah Tate, Lincoln
So. | QB | Memphis, Tenn.
Major: Computer Information Systems
Team Result: 27-15 W at Lane (9/6)
  • Completed 13 passes on 16 attempts (81%) for 164 yards and two touchdowns
    • Tossed touchdowns of 26 and 44 yards
  • Helped Lincoln to its first road win since 2018 and first 2-0 start to a season since 1972
  • Earns first career Offensive Player of the Week Award
  • Last Blue Tigers’ Offensive Player of the Week: Antwon Davis (11/9/15)
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

  • Racked up 11 solo tackles, including two sacks
  • Nabbed one interception
  • Earns second career Defensive Player of the Week Award (10/3/22)

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

  • Made both field goal attempts, including a game-winning, 43-yard conversion as time expired
    • First game-winning score for S&T on the last play of regulation since 1994
    • Helped complete Miners’ comeback from a 21-10 deficit
  • Earns first career Special Teams Player of the Week Award
