UMSL Voted as Men’s Golf Champions in GLVC Preseason Poll

INDIANAPOLIS – Missouri-St. Louis was selected in the preseason coaches’ poll as the choice to win the 2026 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) men’s golf title, the league office announced on Tuesday.

The preseason poll is selected by the league’s head coaches, who, per GLVC Bylaws, are not permitted to vote for their own team.
 
No. 1 Missouri-St. Louis
  • Received four first-place votes and 136 total points.
  • Lost in the semifinals of the GLVC Match Play to UIndy 4-1.
  • Placed 17th at the NCAA Championships
  • Ranked 30th in DII and second in the Midwest region by Clippd Rankings.
  • Coached by reigning GLVC Coach of the Year Troy Halterman, who enters his 18th season at the helm.
  • Return First Team All-GLVC selections Trigg Lindahl, Dani Solavera and GLVC Freshman of the Year Logan Mayo.
No. 2 Missouri S&T
  • Received nine first-place votes and 134 total points.
  • Won their first GLVC Championship, defeating UIndy 4-1 in the Championship Match Play.
  • Lost in the Quarterfinals of the NCAA Championships
  • Ranked 34th in DII and fifth in the Midwest region by Clippd Rankings.
  • Coached by Connor Benjamin, who enters his first season in charge, one year after winning the GLVC Championship as a student-athlete.
  • Return First Team All-GLVC selections Cole Komyati and Isaac To.

No. 3 Drury
  • Received 110 total points.
  • Placed fifth at the 2025 GLVC Championships
  • Ranked 59th in DII and 11th in the Midwest region by Clippd Rankings.
  • Coached by Bryan Daniels, who enters his sixth season at Drury.
 
 No. 4 Indianapolis
  • Received 105 total points.
  • Made the GLVC Match Play Championship, falling to Missouri S&T
  • Ranked 96th in DII and 14th in the Midwest region by Clippd Rankings
  • Coached by Andy Serketich, who enters his second year in charge of the Greyhounds.
  • Return three members of the GLVC Match Play Championship lineup (Alexander Nestun, Drew Rowan, and Jackson Watkins)

Rounding out the poll respectively in fifth through 13th was Rockhurst (102 points), Illinois Springfield (90), Maryville (75), Lewis (72), McKendree (69), Quincy (52), Upper Iowa (34), William Jewell (23), Lincoln (12).
