S&T, UMSL Lock Up GLVC Men’s Golf Major Accolades

INDIANAPOLIS – Missouri S&T sophomore Rizq Adam Rohizam has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Men's Golf Player of the Year, while S&T’s Li Kasule earned the Freshman of the Year nod and Missouri-St. Louis head mentor Troy Halterman was chosen by his peers as GLVC Coach of the Year, it was announced on Monday. In addition, 20 individuals earned the All-Conference recognition.
 
Per GLVC Bylaws, coaches rank the All-Conference nominations and the top ten in total points are awarded 1st Team All-GLVC. The next 10 players are designated as 2nd Team All-GLVC. If the individual award winner is not voted to 1st Team All-GLVC, they will be automatically added as the
eleventh member. Any player who makes All-Tournament Team (top five at the GLVC Championship) in 2nd through 5th place can be added to 2nd Team All-GLVC without receiving any votes.
 
Player of the Year: Rizq Adam Rohizam, Sophomore, Missouri S&T
  • Becomes Missouri S&T’s second ever GLVC Player of the Year, joining Carl Miltun in 2024.
  • Played in 31 rounds during the 2025-26 season with a 71.8 stroke average and season-low 64.
  • Won two events with five other top-ten finishes over 10 events.
  • Ranked No. 1 in the GLVC, sixth in NCAA Midwest Region, and 66th in NCAA Division II.
  • Helped Miners to three tournament wins, to go along with four top-five results.
  • Finished tied for sixth at GLVC Championship (72-72-74-218).
 
Freshman of the Year: Li Kasule, Missouri S&T
  • Becomes Missouri S&T’s second Freshman of the Year and first since Carl Miltun in 2021.
  • Played in 28 rounds during the 2025-26 season with a 72.6 stroke average.
  • Has five top-10 finishes with the best finish of fourth.
  • Ranked eighth in the GLVC, 20th in NCAA Midwest Region, and 223rd in NCAA Division II.
  • Helped Miners to three tournament wins, to go along with four top-five results.
  • Finished tied for fourth at GLVC Championship (73-70-73-216).
 
Coach of the Year: Troy Halterman, Missouri-St. Louis
  • Wins sixth Coach of the Year award and sixth overall for UMSL. (updated)
  • Led Tritons to their fourth GLVC Championship defeating UIndy in the semifinals 4-1 and Missouri S&T 3-2 in the final.
  • Mentored Tritons to two wins and two runner-up finishes, as well as four other top-five finishes.
  • Guided Trigg Lindahl, Logan Mayo, and Dani Solavera to All-GLVC First Team honors, with Leo Baudry and Ludvig Granlund earning Second Team honors.
 
Along with Rohizam, Kasule, Lindahl, Mayo, and Solavera, Drury’s Gaige Lewis, the individual medalist, earned First Team honors. Indianapolis’s Alexander Nestun, Lewis’s Jann Atendido, S&T’s Cole Komyati and Isaac To round out the First Team honorees.
 
The league also recognized 13 GLVC James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award honorees for the sport and Lewis as the team award winner. The student-athletes chosen are individuals who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. These individuals must also be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting. The honorees are now eligible to become one of their school’s two Spalding Sportsmanship Award winners, which will be announced later this month.
