INDIANAPOLIS – Missouri-St. Louis was voted to win the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Women’s Soccer Championship per the preseason coaches’ poll presented by Primo Designs, it was announced by the conference office Wednesday.
The preseason poll is selected by the league’s head coaches, who, per GLVC Bylaws, are not permitted to vote for their own team.
No. 1 Missouri-St. Louis
- Received 10 first-place votes and 189 total points.
- Finished in the quarterfinals of GLVC Tournament in 2025 before advancing to the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals.
- Head coach Stephen Cavallo enters his second season with the program after being recognized as the GLVC Coach of the Year in 2025, while his staff was named the Midwest Region Coaching Staff of the Year by the United Soccer Coaches (USC).
- Senior defender Taylor Martin returns after receiving United Soccer Coaches All-American second team and GLVC Defensive Player of the Year honors.
T-No. 2 McKendree
- Received one first-place vote and 170 total points.
- Finished second in the 2025 GLVC Tournament before its postseason run ended in the NCAA Tournament first round.
- Head coach Tim Strange enters his 27th season at the helm.
- Three accoladed players return this season:
- Senior midfielder Maggie Gleckler returns after earning D2CCA All-Midwest Region First Team, All-GLVC First Team, and USC All-Midwest Region First Team honors.
- Senior defender Zoe Cormier returns after earning D2CCA All-Midwest Region First Team, All-GLVC First Team, and USC All-Midwest Region Second Team honors.
- Junior forward Maddie Mauch returns after earning D2CCA All-Midwest Region Second Team and USC All-Midwest Region Second Team honors.
T-No. 2 Maryville
- Received one first-place vote and 170 total points.
- Ranked No. 21 in USC/IWSOC DII preseason poll.
- Finished in the semifinals in the GLVC Tournament in 2025 before advancing to the NCAA Tournament third round.
- Head coach Lori Lawson enters her ninth season with the program.
- Sophomore midfielder Sophia Carter returns after earning GLVC Freshman of the Year, All-GLVC First Team, D2CCA All-Midwest Region First Team, and USC All-Midwest Region First Team honors.
No. 4 Drury
- Received three first-place votes and 169 total points.
- Won third GLVC Tournament title in 2025 before its postseason run ended in the NCAA Tournament first round.
- Head coach Justin Olson enters his seventh season at the helm.
- Senior goalkeeper Katy Fitzler returns after earning USC All-Midwest Region Keeper of the Year, USC All-Midwest Region First Team, D2CCA All-Midwest Region Second Team, GLVC Goalkeeper of the Year, and All-GLVC First Team honors.
