INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) announced on Friday the addition of Kaitlin Fasbender and Ziair Morgan to the Conference office staff as interns for the 2026-27 academic year, along with the return of Eugene Cooper for his second campaign.
“One of the most successful initiatives that we’ve embarked upon in the GLVC over the past several years is our internship program,” said GLVC Commissioner Jim Naumovich. “We’ve been very fortunate to secure some extremely bright, talented, and hard-working, young people to work on behalf of our member institutions in the conference office through the NCAA Division II Strategic Priorities Fund. This year’s internship class of Eugene, Kaitlin, and Ziair certainly uphold the lofty standards of their predecessors.”
Cooper – a native of Monrovia, Liberia who grew up in Indianapolis – graduated from the University of Indianapolis with a Bachelor of Science degree in sports management and a minor in business administration in May 2025. He has worked in various roles at other organizations, contributing to high-profile events like the 2025 Division I Women’s Basketball Final Four, 2024 NBA All-Star Game, 2025 WNBA All-Star Game, 2024 Big 10 Football Championship, and Special Olympics. Cooper is in his second year of graduate school at UIndy, as he pursues a Master of Business Administration degree in AI analytics and leadership.
Fasbender – an Indianapolis native – graduated from Drury University in May 2025 with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and minors in honors and English. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in research psychology at UIndy. Fasbender was a four-year volleyball student-athlete at both universities and is excited to continue being a part of the GLVC family. She has enjoyed various experiences in the athletics world, including her time volunteering with the 2026 Horizon League Basketball Championships, working with On Location as a Student Production Assistant for the 2026 DI Men’s Basketball Final Four, and being part of the College Program with the Indianapolis 500 in May 2026. Fasbender worked as an events intern for the Brownsburg Parks Department during summer 2026 where she gained insight into the nature of events and planning.
Morgan was born in Pittsburgh and grew up in Crawfordsville, Indiana. He graduated from Trine University with a Bachelor of Science in business administration with a major in sports management degree in May 2026. Morgan spent two years as a basketball student-athlete for the Thunder – winning a Division III National Championship in 2024 – before serving as a student assistant for his final two years on campus. During the summers of 2024 and 2025, he worked with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as a Photoshop retail intern, helping with the marketing of the Indy 500 and various other races.
With the GLVC, the trio will help with league championships in multiple ways, including soliciting hospitality sponsors; assisting with championship preparation and execution; organizing in-game promotions; gathering data for research projects; and helping with social media initiatives and GLVCSN productions.
Morgan began his tenure on July 31 at the annual GLVC Football Kickoff, while Fasbender joined the staff on August 31 following her summer internship.
