2015 GLVC Men's & Women's Cross Country Championships

The 2015 Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships will be held on Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in Somers, Wis.

For the second time in league history, the GLVC Cross Country Championships will be streamed tape-delayed on the GLVC Sports Network.  The date and time the event will air is still to be determined.

The 2015 Cross Country Championships will open with the 32nd annual women's 6,000-meter run at 10:30 a.m. CT, followed by the 37th annual men's 8,000-meter run at 11:30 a.m.

The top-placing men's and women's teams will be named the 2015 GLVC Champion, respectively. In addition, the top 15 men individual finishers and the top 15 women individual finishers will be named All-GLVC and the medalist of each race will be named the GLVC Runners of the Year. The top finishing freshman on both sides will garner GLVC Freshman of the Year honors.

Southern Indiana is the defending champion on the men's side having collected its 10th-straight conference title and league-best 22nd overall crown at the 2014 event, which was hosted by Lewis at in Romeoville, Ill.  The Screaming Eagles scored 30 points in the victory and posted all seven runners among the conference's top-20 finishers.  UW-Parkside finished second with 52 points, followed by Lewis (79) in third.  USI's streak of 10 straight titles is an all-sport GLVC Championship record.

On the women’s side, Southern Indiana enters this year’s event on the heels of its fourth straight title in 2014.  The Screaming Eagles scored 41 points and topped runner-up Lewis (85) and third-place finisher UW-Parkside (92) for their ninth overall conference crown and sixth in the last seven years.
