Returns to the University of Indianapolis

The 2018 Great Lakes Valley Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held at the Athletics & Recreation Center (ARC) on the campus of the University of Indianapolis on Feb. 24-25. The 2018 edition marks the 19th annual GLVC Indoor Track & Field Championship.

The two-day event will once again be streamed live on the GLVC Sports Network.  Nearly 13 hours of coverage will be made available for free for all visitors at GLVCSN.com.

In 2017, Lewis captured its fourth straight sweep at the GLVC Championships.
The Flyers’ women’s program scored 202 points over the weekend to earn its record-breaking sixth GLVC Championship.  Bellarmine finished second with 121 points, while Indianapolis (70), McKendree (61) and Missouri S&T (54) completed the top five.  UW-Parkside (47) and Truman State (41) were sixth and seventh, respectively, followed by Southern Indiana (29), William Jewell (19), Saint Joseph’s (9), Illinois Springfield (8) and Maryville (1).

The Lewis men netted 115 points for their fifth overall conference crown, which is the most in league history.  The Flyers were followed by four teams within seven points of each other, including runner-up Indianapolis (94), Missouri S&T (92), McKendree (89), and UW-Parkside (87).  Saint Joseph’s (67) placed sixth, while Southern Indiana (46), Bellarmine (31), Truman State (19), William Jewell (15), Drury (6) and Maryville (1) rounded out the scoring field.

Lewis leads the league with five men's indoor titles, followed by UIndy and former GLVC member SIU Edwardsville with four, while Missouri S&T has earned one.  Lewis also owns the women's lead with six titles, followed by SIU Edwardsville with five GLVC wins, while Bellarmine (2) and Indianapolis (1) have also captured past crowns.
