GLVC Basketball Championship Tournament Returns to Edwardsville, IL
The 2020 GLVC Men's and Women's Basketball Championship Tournaments return to the First Community Arena at the Vadalabene Center on the campus of former league member Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, March 5-8.
The 2020 GLVC Men's and Women's Basketball Championship Tournaments will feature eight men's and eight women's squads that will have earned an invitation based on its GLVC Point Rating System rating.
The 2020 event features the women’s No. 2 and No. 7 seeds squaring off on Thursday at 12 p.m. CT, followed by the women’s No. 1 and No. 8 seeds at 2:30 p.m. The men’s 1/8 game will then take to the court at 6 p.m., with the nightcap featuring the men’s 2/7 contest.
Quarterfinal action continues on Friday with the women’s 3/6 game at noon, followed by their 4/5 game. The men’s 3/6 contest will tip at 6 p.m., with their 4/5 quarterfinal concludes Friday’s action with an 8:30 p.m. start.
Saturday and Sunday play will resemble previous tournament formats as the women will play their remaining games on the front half, followed by the men in the second half of the day.
The women's GLVC Champion will be crowned at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 8, followed by the men's final at 3:30 p.m.
Both winners will earn the Conference's automatic berth to the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional.
