Lindenwood, Lewis Earn GLVC Men’s Indoor Track & Field Weekly Awards



INDIANAPOLIS – Lindenwood University graduate Sam Yaro and Lewis University redshirt-sophomore Keegan Zack have been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, it was announced by the league office Thursday. 
 
TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Sam Yaro, Lindenwood
Gr., Sprints/Mid-Distance, Greater Accra Region, Ghana

Team Result: No Team Scores at Washburn Rust Buster (1/15) 
  • Won 400-meter dash in NCAA provisional time of 47.91
    • Ranks first in GLVC and second in NCAA D-II for that time
  • Anchored 4x400 winning relay to meet record time of 3:19.41 (50.05 split)
  • Placed third in 200-meter dash with personal-best time of 21.99
  • Earns second career Indoor Track Athlete of the Week Award (1/20/22, 2/5/21)
  • Last Lions’ Indoor Track Athlete of the Week Award: Louis Moreau (2/11/21)

FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Keegan Zack, Lewis

Major: Exercise and Movement Science

Team Result: 4th/10 Teams (90 Points) at Sean Brady Alumni Invitational (12/15) 
  • Won triple jump with leap of 14.64m (48’0.5”) for NCAA provisional mark
    • Ranks first in GLVC and 14th in NCAA D-II for that distance
  • Finished third in the long jump (6.83m; 22’5”)
  • Earns first career Indoor Field Athlete of the Week Award
