Truman, Drury Earn First GLVC Baseball Player of the Week Honors



INDIANAPOLIS – Truman State University sophomore pitcher Zachry Schneider and Drury University junior catcher Nikko Calabro were respetively named Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Pitcher and Player of the Week in baseball, it was announced by the league office Monday.

  • Tossed a complete-game shutout in season-opening 4-0 win last Saturday
  • Struck out three and walked one batter over seven innings
  • Held opposing batters to a .136 batting average
  • Earns first career Pitcher of the Week award
  • Last Bulldogs’ Pitcher of the Week: Kent Frantz (3/17/15)
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Nikko Calabro, Drury

Team Results: 10-4 W, 13-0 W vs. Fort Hays (2/11) | 11-3 W, 19-7 vs. Fort Hays (2/13)
  • Went 10-for-17 (.667) on the weekend while also drawing four walks for an on-base percentage of .737
  • Homered twice in the season-opening 10-4 win over Fort Hays and totaled five extra-base hits over the remaining three games on the weekend
  • Batted in 11 runs while scoring 10 runs himself
  • Earns third career Player of the Week award (3/29/21, 4/26/21, 2/14/22)
