Upper Iowa's Hilmer Named D2CIDA Men's Basketball Division II Player of the Week


 

AUGUSTA, GA – Upper Iowa University graduate guard Jake Hilmer has been named the men's basketball Division II Player of the Week by the D2CIDA. Hilmer claims his third national honor since the program began in 2022.

The graduate student from Walker, Iowa, averaged 34.5 points per game in the Peacocks' first two games. He scored 30 with three rebounds and two assists in a loss to Northern Michigan, then exploded for 39 points in a win over Michigan Tech. He hit 9-for-17 from the field in that game and 18-for-18 from the foul line. In the two games combined, he hit 26 of 27 free throws while shooting 49% from the field. He leads the GLVC in scoring.

The Division II Player of the Week is selected by the Division II Conference Information Directors Association (D2CIDA).
