ST. CHARLES, Mo. – The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Men's Basketball Championship Game is set as the University of Missouri-St. Louis and McKendree University will meet Sunday, March 5. The Conference title will be decided on the campus of Lindenwood University at the Robert F. Hyland Arena, with tip-off set for 1:00 p.m. CT. Tomorrow’s title game will be the third time that a No. 5 and No. 6 seed face off for the GLVC Championship (2021, 2013).

It was a competitive first half that saw four lead changes, but UMSL would emerge with a six-point lead heading to the locker room. Josiah Tynes was on fire for the Greyhounds, leading all scorers with 13 points at the break. The Tritons went to work quickly in the second half, using an 11-0 run to push their lead to double digits. UMSL dominated the remainder of the game, securing a 26-point victory to advance to the GLVC Championship game. The duo of Bowen Sandquist and Isaiah Fuller combined for 50 points for the Tritons and Fuller added four steals on the defensive end. UMSL will look to win their second consecutive GLVC crown in tomorrow’s title game.

SBU started the scoring with a dunk in their first possession which would prove to be their only lead of the game. McKendree continued their offensive success from yesterday’s quarterfinal contest, shooting 59.2 percent (29-of-42) from the field and 55.6 percent (15-of-27) from beyond the arc. Eric Powell III couldn’t miss from three for McKendree, going 6-of-6 and finishing with 20 points. Teammate Milos Vicentic paced the Bearcats with 23 points and Caleb Zurliene contributed 19 of his own. Tomorrow’s matchup will mark the first-ever title game appearance for McKendree.
