ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T captured its third-straight and seventh overall league title at the 2023 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday at Allgood-Bailey Stadium on the campus of Missouri S&T in Rolla, Missouri, to conclude the three-day meet.
The Miners totaled 207 points to best runner-up Lewis University (146) by 61 points.
University of Indianapolis (79.5) finished third, while University of Illinois Springfield (72) and Truman State University (54) placed fourth and fifth, respectively. Sixth place went to McKendree University (49), while only one point separated the respective seventh- and eighth-place teams in Maryville University (44) and William Jewell College (43). Southwest Baptist University (39) was ninth and University of Missouri-St. Louis (19) finished in 10th. Drury University (13) placed 11th, while Quincy University (5) was 12th.
Among the highlights on the day, two records were broken in the 100-meter dash and 1,500-meter run.

The top-three finishers in all events were named All-Conference honorees.
At the conclusion of the Championship, in addition to Carroll and Morris, Lewis’ Tyler Toussaint was named Freshman of the Year, while the league coaches also recognized Shaun Meinecke as GLVC Coach of the Year.
Additionally, UIndy was honored as the GLVC James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award winner, while 12 student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior were also named as their sport’s honoree for the award. These individuals must also be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting. The honorees are now eligible to become one of their school’s two Spalding Sportsmanship Award winners, which will be announced later this month.
