All 13 GLVC Member Schools Appear in Final LEARFIELD Directors' Cup Standings

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) closed out the 2022-23 academic season with all 13 member institutions ranked in the final Division II LEARFIELD Directors' Cup standings, as reported on June 13, including the University of Indianapolis in the top five at No. 4 with 829.25 points.

This is the Greyhounds seventh top-5 finish in the Cup standings, following their highest-ever placement in 2022 (3rd). Indianapolis scored in the top-10 in nine of its 14 sports scored, including a National Championship in men's swimming and diving and a runner-up finish in women’s swimming and diving.

McKendree University was the next-highest ranked league member at No. 34 with 416.50 points. Drury University (362.00) and University of Missouri-St. Louis (358.75) snuck into the top 50 at No. 49 and 50, respectively. 64th-ranked Maryville University (302.00) and 66th-ranked Lewis University (294.50) followed, while No. 77 University of Illinois Springfield (256.00) and No. 97 Missouri S&T (215.75) rounded out the top 100.

At No. 135 was Quincy University by virtue of its 142.00 points, while Truman State University placed 181st with 86.00 points and Southwest Baptist University ranked 194th with 76.00 points to finish in the top 200. Concluding the GLVC contingent on the list of 256 schools was Rockhurst University (25.00) at No. 238 and William Jewell College (18.50) at No. 254.

The LEARFIELD Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships. Overall, 15 sports are counted in the final D-II standings, four of which must be women’s volleyball and basketball, and men’s basketball and baseball. The next highest (11 max) sports scored for each institution, regardless of gender, are used in the standings.
