INDIANAPOLIS – Four Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) student-athletes were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) NCAA Division II Women's Swimming & Diving Academic All-America® Teams, it was announced Tuesday.
Indianapolis led GLVC representation with two individuals making the list. Stefanie Markwardt (Exercise Science major, 4.00 GPA) earned a first-team selection for the second-straight year, while teammateCelina Schmidt (Business Administration & Management, 3.82) appeared on the Second Team.
Drury's Mellie Wijk (Communications, 3.76) was another first-team honoree with Markwardt, while Zara Konstapel (English & French, 3.94) of Missouri-St. Louis joined Schmidt on the Second Team for her second consecutive honor.
The CSC Academic All-America® separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and College Division. The College Division includes all NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools.
The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure, to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 DII Academic All-America® teams program.
