Drury, Quincy Garner Season’s Final GLVC Tennis Weekly Laurels



INDIANAPOLIS – Drury University freshman Antanina Novik and Quincy University freshman Iñigo Villacampa have respectively been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Player of the Week in women's and men's tennis, it was announced by the league office Tuesday. 
 
WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Antanina Novik, Drury

Team Results: 6-1 W at Truman State (4/27) | 4-3 W at Quincy (4/29)
  • Won both of her matches in singles and doubles
  • Recorded a win at No. 4 singles over TSU’s Abbi Worster (6-0, 6-0) and another victory in the No. 5 spot against QU’s Ana Alvarez (7-6, 6-4)
  • Paired with Maria Espejo for wins at No. 2 doubles against TSU’s Worster/Akansha Negi (6-1) and QU’s Steffi Lao/Mar Sarda Marti (6-1)
    • Improved doubles record to 10-8
  • Earns first career Player of the Week Award
  • Last Panthers’ Player of the Week: Ewa Samberger (4/23/24)

  • Registered wins over 74th-ranked Youseff Nabil of SBU (6-2, 7-6) and 13th-ranked Yaroslav Sharyy of DU (3-6, 7-6, 1-0)
    • Improved singles record to 13-5
  • Partnered with Zach Willing for wins against 26th-ranked Nabil/Ilyes Khelifi (7-5) and DU’s Sylvain Garin-Michaud/Jesus Gonzalez (6-3)
