Four GLVC Football Standouts Named to AFCA All-America Teams

WACO, Texas – The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) saw four standouts named All-Americans from member schools Wednesday by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA).
 
Indianapolis duo of GLVC Offensive Player of the Year, Quarterback Gavin Sukup, and First Team All-GLVC Offensive Lineman Ryne Buttz were named First Team All-Americans. Sukup, a Harlon Hill finalist is the first GLVC quarterback to garner the award whilst Buttz join Ruben Holcomb as the only offensive linemen to be awarded with the honor. The duo becomes the fifth and sixth AFCA All-Americans in Indianapolis history, since their inclusion to GLVC football in 2012.

Missouri S&T’s long snapper Graham Carter, a First Team All-GLVC honoree joined the Greyhound duo on the First Team. Carter becomes the second Miner to earn All-American status from the AFCA, joining Will Brown in 2014.

On the second was Upper Iowa Tight End Eddie Burgess. Burgess, a GLVC First Team honoree helped lead the Peacocks to an Albanese Candy Bowl victory a couple of weeks back, and becomes the second Peacock AFCA All-American, their first since joining the GLVC in 2023.
