INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) announced on Monday the eight-team field for the 2025 GLVC Softball Championship Tournament, scheduled for April 30- May 3 in East Peoria, Ill. This season marks the 21st consecutive year the league postseason tournament will be held at the EastSide Centre.
Regular Season Champion Drury earned the No. 1 overall seed, while Lewis University secured the second seed, Maryville University was tabbed as the 3-seed, McKendree University claimed the 4-seed, University of Illinois Springfield was tabbed fifth, University of Indianapolis enters the postseason as the 6-seed, Missouri S&T will be seeded No. 7, and Rockhurst University rounds out the field as the eighth seed.
The top-eight teams based on Conference winning percentage received a berth in the double-elimination tournament.
Game 1: #4 McKendree vs. #5 Illinois Springfield | Wednesday, April 30, 12 PM CT
- McKendree went 32-19 overall and 18-10 in GLVC action during the regular season.
- The Bearcats are making their seventh appearance in the GLVC postseason and third in a row.
- UIS went 29-18 overall and 17-11 in GLVC action during the regular season.
- The Prairie Stars are making their 10th appearance in the GLVC postseason and first since 2023.
- McKendree and UIS split on April 7 at UIS, 3-0 in favor of the Prairie Stars and 8-4 for McKendree.
Game 2: #1 Drury vs. #8 Rockhurst | Wednesday, April 30, 3:00 PM CT
- Drury went 31-19 overall and 22-6 in GLVC action during the regular season.
- Drury is making its eighth appearance in the GLVC postseason and sixth consecutive.
- The Panthers earned their first share of the regular season title in school history.
- Drury earned the top seed over Lewis by head to head with the Panthers and Flyers splitting the season series and Drury defeating third-seeded Maryville 2-0 whilst Lewis was swept by Maryville.
- Rockhurst finished the season 18-24, 14-14 in conference.
- The Hawks are making their ninth appearance in the GLVC postseason.
- Rockhurst lost a three-way tiebreaker against S&T and Truman, with S&T going 1-1 against Drury and Truman and Rockhurst going 0-2 against the Panthers. Rockhurst won the head-to-head tiebreaker against Truman with the Hawks sweeping the Bulldogs 2-0 on March 29.
- Drury swept Rockhurst on April 12 at home 2-1 and 4-0.
Game 3: #3 Maryville vs. #6 Indianapolis | Wednesday, April 30, 1:00 PM CT
- Maryville went 27-24 overall and 19-9 in GLVC action during the regular season.
- The Saints are making their sixth appearance in the GLVC postseason.
- Indianapolis went 34-20 overall and 16-12 in GLVC action during the regular season.
- UIndy is making its 35th appearance in the GLVC postseason and seventh in a row with three Conference titles to its name, winning in 2012, 2016, and 2021.
- Maryville defeated UIndy on April 7, 8-1 in both contests at Indianapolis.
Game 4: #2 Lewis vs. #7 Missouri S&T | Wednesday, April 30, 4:00 PM CT
- Lewis went 36-16 overall and 22-6 in GLVC action during the regular season.
- The Flyers are making their league-best 36th appearance in the GLVC postseason and owns the most Conference titles with 11.
- Drury earned the top seed over Lewis by head to head with the Panthers and Flyers splitting the season series and Drury sweeping third-seeded Maryville whilst Lewis was swept by Maryville.
- S&T went 17-32 overall and 14-14 in GLVC action during the regular season.
- The Miners are making their eighth appearance in the GLVC postseason.
- Lewis swept Missouri S&T in Rolla on March 29, 11-1 and 6-1.
- Missouri S&T won a three-way tiebreaker against S&T and Truman, with S&T going 1-1 against Drury and Truman and Rockhurst going 0-2 against the Panthers.
