Five Individuals and One Relay Team Claim National Titles at 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships

PUEBLO, Colo. – Five individuals and one relay team took home individual national titles at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships over the weekend to lead the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) delegation at the 2025 event on the campus of Colorado State University Pueblo.

Denise Hernandez of Lewis University won the women’s long jump, Alex Meyer of the University of Indianapolis won the men’s long jump, Owen Fraser of Missouri S&T claimed the men’s discus title, Collinique Farrington from Southwest Baptist University won the women’s 400m, while Josue Le Cadre from Indianapolis won the men’s 800m, and the Lincoln University women’s 4x400m relay team took home a national title.
 
Overall the GLVC was awarded with 18 individual All-Americans, with two relay teams earning All-American honors.

On day one Hernandez claimed her national title, with Levi Graham from Lewis earning silver medalist honors in the men’s hammer throw. Later in the day Meyer claimed his title with Wesley Tyndall from Lincoln earning third place.
 
Day two led to more success with Otto Knittel from Missouri S&T and Justin Moeller from Truman State earning sixth and seventh in the men’s decathlon. Karman Kurowicka from Lewis claimed eighth in the women’s high jump, and Fraser added his national championship to cap off the day.
 
On the final day, the awards came thick and fast with Southwest Baptist’s Savannah Manthey claiming fifth in the women’s javelin throw, then Farrington claimed her national title in the women’s 400m with Lincoln’s Shantae George earning All-American honors with an eighth place finish. William Jewell College’s Caroline Mayes placed eighth in the women’s 100m hurdles, Lincoln’s Shaneal Clarke-Giddings finished sixth in the women’s 800m with Indianapolis’s Josue Le Cadre claiming his national championship after in the men’s 800m. Following them was the men’s 400m hurdles where the Lincoln duo of Sharim Hamilton and Clinton Laguerre finished third and sixth respectively. Farrington and George were not done with Farrington claiming second in the women’s 200 and George eighth. Lincoln’s 4x400m relay teams capped of the night with the women earning a national title and the men finishing as runner’s up.


Lincoln men finished ninth on 23 points with Indianapolis placing tied for 11th with 20 points. Missouri S&T placed tied for 16th with 13 points, while Lewis tied for 27th with eight points. Truman State was the other team scorer with two points in a tie for 57th.
 
On the women’s side, Southwest Baptist led the way for the conference in 11th place with 25 points. Lincoln finished tied for 17th with 15 points, while Lewis finished tied for 23rd with 11. William Jewell was the final conference team that scored points with one, placing them in a tie for 68th.
